Job summary

Harmony Senior Services, LLC in Winston-Salem, NC, is seeking a Med Tech to provide quality care and assist residents with activities of daily living, while administering prescribed medications within scope. You will maintain records, support daily activities, and ensure safety during meals and emergencies.

The role requires CNA and Med Tech licensure, high school completion, and completion of required medication trainings.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits assigned.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assistance with activities of daily living for residents.
• Assist with administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Maintain working knowledge of all policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
• Assist residents with housekeeping tasks as directed.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Assist residents to and from dining room and activities.
• Check attendance at meals and activities; monitor resident status.
• Report incidents or concerns to appropriate individuals (e.g., HCD, RN/LPN, ED).
• Communicate status, upcoming community information, appointments, admissions, and transfers in writing.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition and provide emotional support.
• Attend medication trainings and complete medication cart audits.
• Document all medication administration on EMAR/MAR; report exceptions to HCD.
• Re-order medications, fax to pharmacy, communicate changes with resident/family as needed.
• Document all medication administration in Daily Log.
• Other duties as assigned
