Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Charleston, SC is seeking a compassionate Med Tech to provide quality care and assist residents with daily living activities and medication administration within the approved scope of practice.

You will maintain EMAR/MAR documentation, participate in trainings, and support resident move-ins while promoting a positive and professional community environment. The role requires lifting up to 50 lbs and flexibility for weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must possess current and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be a contributing member of nursing team and follow instruction of supervisor.
• Must be polite and considerate of residents, visitors, and co-workers at all times.
• Must be able to walk and stand for extended periods of time.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.
• Must be able to safely lift and transfer residents while maintaining proper body mechanics.
• Must be in designated uniform during working hours, to include name badge and a smile.
• Must be CPR/First Aid certified, or be willing to become certified within 60 days of hire.
• Must be able to represent the community in a positive and professional manner.
• Must attend and complete all required in-services and staff meetings.
• Must be willing to work a flexible schedule that includes weekends and holidays.
• Must be able to remain calm and competent during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality care and assist with activities of daily living.
• Assist with administration of prescribed medications within scope of practice.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Report incidents involving residents to appropriate personnel.
• Complete medication cart audits and document in EMAR/MAR.
• Communicate resident status and upcoming information in Daily Log.
