Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Simpsonville, SC is seeking a Med Tech to provide quality care and assist with daily living activities and medication administration within scope.

You will maintain medication carts, document in EMAR/MAR, report incidents, and support residents through meals and activities, with CPR/First Aid certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in-writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.

Responsibilities

• Assist with administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents involving residents to include care concerns or issues to appropriate individuals (ex: HCD, RN/LPN, or ED).
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to all resident calls for assistance or emergency alerts.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Follow confidentiality policies regarding release of resident information.
• Assist residents to and from the dining room and activities.
• Check on residents, ensure attendance at meals and activities.
• Check on residents who are ill and report status or concerns.
• Communicate resident status, upcoming community information, appointments, admissions, transfers.
• Assist new residents with move-in transition: provide emotional support.
• Attendance to all medication trainings scheduled.
• Complete medication cart audits and maintain the cart as directed.
• Pass all medication administration observations.
• Communicate medication resident needs to the HCD and document in the Daily Log.
• Re-orders medications, faxes to pharmacy, communicates with resident family/RP as needed with changes.
• Documents all medication administration on the EMAR/MAR and reports exceptions to HCD and Daily Log.
• Other duties as assigned
