Job summary

Harmony Senior Services is seeking a Med Tech to provide quality care and assist with daily living activities for residents in Suffolk, VA. Includes administering prescribed medications within scope and following facility policies. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential in this role.

The position requires CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing, with the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Medication Aide Course completion required.
• Must hold CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing with the State Board of Nursing.
• Must pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must pass all medication cart audits.
• Must complete 4 hours of medication education annually.
• Effective written and verbal communication is required.
• Able to work with all levels of personnel and be a team player.
• Willing to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with resident transfers.

Responsibilities

• Assists with administration of prescribed medications within scope.
• Maintain knowledge of policies and procedures.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Reports incidents and concerns to appropriate personnel.
• Performs housekeeping duties as directed.
• Responds promptly to calls and emergency alerts.
• Plans and conducts activity programs for residents.
• Keeps confidentiality of resident information.
• Assists residents to dining and activities.
• Checks on residents for meals and attendance.
• Monitors ill residents and reports status to appropriate individuals.
• Communicates resident status and upcoming information in writing and verbally.
• Supports move-in transition for new residents.
• Attends medication trainings and completes cart audits.
• Documents medication administration on EMAR/MAR and Daily Log.
• Re-orders medications and communicates changes with family as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
