Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Virginia Beach seeks a Med Tech to provide quality care and assist with medications for residents. This role supports activities of daily living, follows policies, communicates resident status, and contributes to a safe, respectful environment.

Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, completion of the Medication Aide Course, and current CNA and Med Tech licenses. A flexible schedule with weekend/holidayavailability is expected.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess both current CNA and Med Tech license from the State Board of Nursing in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass all medication cart audits.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
• Must be organized and able to work well with all levels of personnel.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs, and push or carry 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Assists with administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Assists residents with activities of daily living.
• Reports incidents or care concerns to appropriate individuals.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning and conducting activity programs for residents.
• Document medication administration on EMAR/MAR and Daily Log.
• Re-order medications and communicate changes to pharmacy and families as needed.
• Attend medication trainings and complete required in-services.
