Job summary

Harmony Senior Services in Suffolk, Virginia is seeking a Med Tech to provide quality resident care and assist with medication administration within scope of practice.

The role includes assisting with activities of daily living, following policies, documenting in EMAR/MAR and Daily Log, and coordinating with the pharmacy. Requires CNA and Med Tech licenses, high school diploma, and ongoing medication training.

Qualifications

• Must have High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have completed the Medication Aide Course.
• Must possess CNA and Med Tech licenses in good standing.
• Must satisfactorily pass 2 medication observations annually.
• Must satisfactorily pass medication cart audits.
• Must attend 4 additional hours of medication administration education annually.
• Must communicate effectively in writing and verbally.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the administration of prescribed medications within the established scope of practice.
• Maintain working knowledge of all policies and procedures.
• Assist residents with activities of daily living.
• Report incidents and concerns to the appropriate personnel.
• Perform housekeeping duties as directed by supervisor.
• Respond promptly to resident calls for assistance or emergencies.
• Assist in planning activity programs for residents.
• Document medication administration in EMAR/MAR and Daily Log.
• Re-orders medications and coordinate with pharmacy as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
