The Oaks in Muskegon, MI is seeking a Med Tech/Caregiver to support residents with medication administration and daily living activities under the supervision of the Nurse Manager. This role blends clinical tasks with compassionate, person-centered care to promote safety, dignity, and engagement.

A 3-day onboarding program starts the role, with ongoing training to build skills in MARs, vital signs, wound care, and reporting changes to the nursing staff.

Competenze

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Medication Aide or Med Tech credential (state-specific certification).
• 1+ year experience in assisted living, memory care, or geriatric care.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and medication administration protocols.
• Valid CPR/BLS certification.
• Ability to lift/transfers residents safely; physical stamina for standing and walking.
• Excellent communication skills; compassionate, respectful demeanor.

Mansioni

• Medication Management: administer oral/topical meds per physician orders and Five Rights.
• Maintain, reconcile, and audit MARs.
• Perform controlled substance counts and monitor expirations.
• Take vital signs and conduct basic tests (e.g., blood glucose).
• Provide wound care and coordinate with nursing staff.
• Assistance with bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, transferring, mobility, and feeding.
• Support hydration and nutrition; facilitate meals.
• Maintain clean resident rooms and safe environments; perform housekeeping tasks.
• Document care and changes in condition; report to nursing staff and families.
