Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking an experienced Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient- and family-centered care using the Watson Model of Care.

The role reports to the Manager of Medical-Surgical Telemetry and carries 12-hour accountability for a defined patient group on the unit. Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care, communicating with the care team, and coordinating discharge planning in partnership with Care

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Nursing degree required.
• Associate in Nursing, Nursing Diploma, or equivalent preferred.
• Internal MLKCH Versant Nurse Residency program graduates considered.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates use of nursing process to assess and plan patient care.
• Prioritizes and organizes patient care; ensures follow-through with planned care.
• Provides age-appropriate care with evidence-based practice and critical thinking.
• Maintains therapeutic nurse/patient relationships and conducts hourly rounding.
• Communicates using SBAR in hand-offs and updates physician of changes.
