Job summary

Martin Luther King, Jr. Community Hospital is seeking a Clinical Staff Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality, patient-centered care on a 12-hour shift.

Reporting to the Manager of Medical-Surgical Telemetry, you will organize, plan, and direct care using the Watson Model of Care for a defined patient group. You will engage in evidence-based nursing, SBAR handoffs, and interdisciplinary teamwork, while supporting the hospital's mission and core values.

Qualifications

• Bachelor in Nursing degree; internal MLKCH Versant Nurse Residency candidates considered.
• Minimum one year of clinical nursing experience; Med/Surg/Telemetry or Critical Care preferred.
• Current California Nursing license; Basic EKG competence; CPI Blue Card within 90 days.
• BLS and ACLS certifications current; bilingual Spanish preferred.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate nursing process to assess and plan for patient and family needs.
• Prioritize and organize patient care; adjust plans as patient conditions change.
• Provide age-appropriate care and apply evidence-based practice and SBAR handoffs.
• Maintain therapeutic nurse-patient relationships; conduct hourly rounds.
• Coordinate discharge planning with Care Managers and interdisciplinary teams.
• Document care in IPOC and ensure compliance with unit policies.
