Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of nursing with AS degree or higher.
• Florida RN license required upon hire.
• Current BLS certification and NIHSS certification required upon hire.
• Stroke and related education completed within defined timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive assessments across physiological, psychological, developmental and lifestyle factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans; regularly review and revise.
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders and protocols.
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments and self-care.
• Coordinate with medical staff to optimize patient care and communication.
• Maintain accurate documentation of care activities and outcomes.
• Monitor and evaluate care effectiveness; adjust plans to improve outcomes.
• Ensure infection control, safety standards and regulatory compliance.
• Provide emotional support and therapeutic communication to patients and families.
• Supervise and delegate care within the healthcare team; participate in performance improvement.
