Job summary
RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical II at Jersey City Medical Center in Jersey City, NJ. The role supports a patient-centered, safety-focused environment with opportunities for professional growth on a fast-paced Medical-Surgical unit.
Responsibilities include comprehensive assessments, evidence-based care, care coordination with physicians, and robust documentation in EPIC. A NJ RN license and BLS are required, with a Bachelor's preferred; weekend rotation
Qualifications
- Active New Jersey RN license in good standing or Multistate RN with NJ Endorsement
- Current American Heart Association BLS certification
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred
- Prior patient care experience
- Experience with electronic medical record systems (EPIC)
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and respond to clinical changes
- Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments, and hands-on care
- Collaborate with physicians and providers to coordinate care
- Educate patients and families for informed decisions
- Document accurately in the electronic medical record (EPIC)
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and ensure smooth transitions of care
- Support continuous professional growth and teamwork in a high-paced environment
