Job summary

RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a registered nurse for the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark, NJ. The RN will join the Medical-Surgical Unit-VIII, day shift, and provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced telemetry setting.

Applicants must hold an active NJ RN license in good standing, with BLS certification. A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred, along with EPIC EMR experience and prior orthopedic or bariatric patient experience.

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse license in good standing or Multistate RN License with NJ Endorsement.
• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing strongly preferred; prior patient care experience and EMR experience (EPIC) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and recognize clinical changes, intervening as needed.
• Provide safe, evidence-based medications, treatments and hands-on care.
• Collaborate with physicians and advanced providers for timely, coordinated care decisions.
• Educate patients and families to ensure understanding and preparedness for next care steps.
• Document accurately in the electronic medical record to ensure continuity and safety.
