Job summary

Bon Secours in Greenville, SC is seeking a Patient Care Technician (PCT) to support nurses and care teams in delivering compassionate patient care. You will sanitize rooms, monitor vital signs, assist with feeding and grooming, and help with mobility, under supervision.

A strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and safety under EPIC EHR workflow. The role requires completing a nursing aide program or equivalent, with preferred BLS by hire.

Qualifications

• BLS Basic Life Support preferred prior to direct patient care (must obtain from approved source)
• Must have completed one of the following: nursing aide training program OR STNA/State Tested Nurse Aide OR CNA Certified Nurse Aide OR Nurses Aide state testing or completed a nursing program with one clinical nursing course and rotation OR 1 year of relevant clinical experience

Responsibilities

• Provides basic patient care including comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility assistance.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Provides high-level customer service to patients, families, visitors, and staff.
• Documents patient care accurately and promptly.
• Participates in hand-off/report of pertinent information upon arrival and departure.
• Performs delegated tasks once competency is validated.
• Mobilizes patients using safe transfer techniques.
• Encourages patients to complete tasks independently.
• Individualizes care based on patient interests and hobbies.
