Job summary

Baystate Health is seeking an Operations Associate/Monitor Technician (OA/MT) to join the Medical/Surgical team at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts. The role supports patient flow, bed management, and monitoring responsibilities to ensure safe, high-quality care.

This part-time position offers second shift, 32 hours per week, with weekend and holiday rotations. GED or HiSET is required, and CPR/BLS certification is expected.

Qualifications

• GED or HiSET (Required)
• BLS CPR certification preferred/required
• Strong communication with multi-disciplinary teams

Responsibilities

• Bed Management & Patient Flow: coordinates admissions, discharges, transfers, bed assignments, and patient transport.
• Clinical & Team Communication: serves as central contact for nurses, physicians, case managers, and hospital teams; manages shift handoffs.
• Administrative & Unit Support: uses hospital systems, maintains patient records, logs, schedules, and unit resources.
• Hospitalist & Care Team Support: aids rounds, consults, and daily assignments.
• Patient Safety & Monitoring: observes monitors, reports rhythm changes, maintains equipment, and initiates emergency procedures when needed.
• Clinical Competency & Compliance: keeps telemetry training and CPR/BLS current, follows all policies.
