Job summary

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification (AHA) and first aid training required.
• Ability to read and write at an elementary level to understand plan of care and record data.
• Ability to perform simple arithmetic for weight, vital signs, I&O.
• Strong interpersonal skills to interact with patients and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Excellent customer service skills required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic nursing care to meet patient needs and comfort.
• Respond to patient call lights promptly and relay to nursing staff.
• Observe patient and report changes in condition to nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living: nourishment, ambulation, hygiene, toileting.
• Prepare rooms and equipment for diagnostic procedures.
• Participate in orientation of new employees.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized patient environment.
• Assist with feeding and monitor intake and output.
