Job summary

Mercy Health is seeking a Clinical Nursing Student (RN) for the Med Surg Unit at Springfield Regional Medical Center on a PRN basis. The role provides direct patient care under RN guidance, with a focus on developing clinical experience within regulatory policies and Mercy Health procedures.

The student must be enrolled in a nursing program and have completed one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation; BLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• HS/GED required.
• Currently enrolled in a nursing program and has completed one clinical nursing course and one clinical rotation.
• BLS (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Under direction of the RN, supports the nurse in the application of the nursing process.
• Provides basic patient care including care and comfort, vital signs, personal care and mobility.
• Acts as liaison between patient and nurse to report changes or concerns.
• Maintains accurate, timely documentation of patient care.
• Participates in hand-off reports and unit activities.
