Job summary

Capital Health is seeking a Medical Assistant/Support staff to prepare patients for examination, take vitals, and document history in electronic medical records. The role includes cleaning exam rooms, obtaining lab specimens, assisting physicians and front desk staff, and ensuring proper discharge paperwork and referrals are completed.

Strong communication and multitasking required; BLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting program accredited by NHA/CAHEA/ABHES or equivalent.
• Must maintain current certification from AAMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA/AMT or similar.
• AHA BLS required.
• Strong problem-solving, insurance knowledge, medical terminology, and data entry skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare exam rooms and assist physicians with examinations.
• Register patients and manage medical records; schedule appointments and referrals.
• Perform electrocardiograms and point-of-care testing as directed.
• Assist front office with billing, insurance eligibility, and discharge paperwork.
• Cross-train for Patient Reception duties and maintain supplies and documentation.
