Capital Health, a regional leader in progressive patient care, seeks a Medical Assistant to prepare patients for examinations, record vitals, and assist physicians. The role includes specimen handling, EKGs, injections, and clerical support across CH offices.

The candidate should have a high school diploma and an accredited medical assisting program, plus AAMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA/AMT certification. BLS is required, orientation deadline applies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Graduate of a post-secondary medical assisting education program accredited by a recognized body.
• Current certification from AAMA/NCCT/AMCA/NAHP/NCMA or AMT or equivalent.
• AHA BLS required; non-licensed must obtain before end of orientation period.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patients for examination and record vitals and history.
• Assist physicians and staff; maintain exam rooms and supplies; verify specimen orders.
• Perform electrocardiograms and point-of-care tests; document results.
• Maintain and document medical information in electronic medical records.
• Coordinate with front office and ancillary staff to support patient services and discharge processes.
• Cross-train to perform Patient Reception Rep duties as needed.
