Job summary

Amazon Operations is seeking a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician to support the Operations Maintenance team in repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment and mentor junior technicians.

The role requires hands-on maintenance, safety compliance, and coordination across facilities, with day-one benefits and a dynamic shift environment in Chesapeake, VA.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of MS Office experience.
• Flexible schedule including weekends, nights, and holidays.
• 2+ years of automated conveyor systems and controls, or completion of Amazon's Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship Program.
• 2+ years of predictive and preventative maintenance experience.
• 2+ years of reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 2+ years of safety standards experience.
• 2+ years of troubleshooting and diagnostics of MHE.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following safety procedures.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems in MHE including belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, and more.
• Maintain positive working relationships across all Amazon Operations facilities.
• Move up to 49 lbs, stand/walk up to 12 hours, climb ladders and gangways safely, and perform bending, lifting, and reaching.
