Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Mechatronics & Robotics Technician in Richmond, VA to support the Operations Maintenance team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout the building. You will install, maintain, and repair automated packaging and distribution equipment while mentoring junior technicians.

This role requires hands-on skills in electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, adherence to safety procedures, and the ability to work up to 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of predictive and preventative maintenance experience.
• 2+ years reading blueprints and electrical schematics.
• 2+ years troubleshooting and diagnostics of material handling equipment (MHE).
• Certification from Amazon's Mechatronics and Robotics Apprenticeship Program is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures.
• Complete preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation.
• Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems related to MHE (belts, motors, photo-eyes, relays, etc.).
• Maintain positive working relationships across Amazon Operations facilities.
• Move up to 49lbs and work shifts up to 12 hours; climb ladders and bend as needed.
