Job summary

Amazon Logistics is seeking a Hardware Development Engineer to lead the development of new mechatronic products for the Delivery Station of the future. You will collaborate with Robotics, SW Tech Teams, Process Engineering, Operations, Facilities and Engineering to advance the automation roadmap.

In this role, you will build prototypes, validate concepts in our Innovation Center, and write business cases to pilot new technology.

Qualifications

3+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
Experience with prototyping and implementation.
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent.
Speak, write, and read fluently in English.

Responsibilities

Lead overall end-to-end equipment technology development to move through ideation, development, conceptual design, detail design, testing and on-site implementation.
Write requirements, functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
Collect customer needs and feedback from the technologies deployed in the field to propose new solutions and enhancements,
Influence technical and business decisions working through data-driven contributions based on technology tests and validation plans,
Define and track clear project timelines, and manage project budget
Conduct regular progress reviews and reporting
Partner with simulation team for validating new ideas and concepts to optimize current workflows and automate manual process paths
Lead the discussion for scalability strategy of new technologies working with various teams like Engineering, vendors, Supply Chain, Corp Dev, etc.
