Job summary

Panelmatic, Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Technical Trainer to deliver hands-on operator training across mechanical assembly and fabrication.

You will manage the training journey from day one through floor release, using SPLs and Work Instructions, and coach operators to reach competency for unsupervised production. You will administer competency checklists at 30, 60, and 90 days, sign off when standards are met, and collaborate with the Training Coordinator and LMS Administrator on enrollment

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of hands-on experience in industrial mechanical assembly, structural fabrication, welding, or related mechanical manufacturing work.
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, structural prints, weld symbols, GD&T basics, and BOMs.
• Strong proficiency with measurement tools and power tools.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, rigging and crane safety, fall protection, and hot-work standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead structured classroom and hands-on training sessions for new and incumbent operators using SPLs and Work Instructions for mechanical work across product lines.
• Execute the three-phase instructional framework for every SPL: Know It, Watch It, Do It.
• Conduct initial skill-building in the training area before production exposure and reinforce PPE and safe-work practices.
• Provide real-time, behaviorally specific feedback, document observations, and adjust pacing to the learner.
• Administer and document competency checklists at 30, 60, and 90-day intervals; apply objective evaluation criteria.
• Hold sign-off authority to release operators to on-the-job training once competency is demonstrated.
• Partner with Training Coordinator / LMS Administrator on enrollment, completion tracking, and reporting.
