Job summary

Abbott, Columbus plant, is seeking a Maintenance Technical Trainer, Controls. The role supports site operations by delivering hands-on electrical and control system training, with a focus on ensuring safe, compliant maintenance practices and effective on-the-job learning for technicians.

The trainer will work closely with site SMEs to develop materials and update standard work, coordinating training schedules across shifts to support continuous production and quality goals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 5 years of controls/electrician experience with Rockwell, PLC and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of operating and troubleshooting electrical/mechanical equipment.

Responsibilities

• Read electrical and process schematics to troubleshoot equipment.
• Train team members on repairing production equipment and plant utility systems.
• Operate, troubleshoot and maintain high-speed packaging, processing, and filling equipment.
• Coordinate on-the-job training (OJT) for maintenance staff.
• Develop and update Maintenance Standard Work (MSW) based on SME input.
• Oversee OJT scheduling and monitor cross-training and rotations.
• Provide support for Certified Job Trainers/Learning Mentors.
• Ensure safety and GMP requirements are followed.
• Scope training across multi-shift operation and off-shifts.
