Job summary

Element Materials Technology is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer for our Daleville/US operations. You will perform routine and non-routine mechanical tests, ensure timely, accurate results, and work under minimal supervision to support aerospace and defense projects.

The role requires a B.S. in a science or testing field and at least two years of post-degree experience. You’ll apply core testing concepts, maintain safety standards, and contribute to continuous improvement in lab processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a science or testing related field is required.
• Minimum 2 years of post-degree engineering experience or equivalent.
• Ability to apply theoretical knowledge to Element’s testing business.
• Strong understanding of mechanical testing concepts (tensile, hardness, bend).
• Working knowledge of laboratory safety and ISO environments is a plus.
• Ability to lead, communicate, and coordinate within a team.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and non-routine mechanical testing assignments with accuracy.
• Execute tensile, hardness, impact, and heat-treatment related tests.
• Analyze testing data and compile results for reporting.
• Adhere to safety protocols and calibration procedures.
• Collaborate with engineers to interpret results and improve methods.
• Assist in maintaining lab equipment and documentation.
