Job summary

Element Daleville is seeking a Materials Test Technician (2nd Shift) to perform routine and non-routine tests in the Mechanical Test Department, ensuring timely and accurate results under supervision. The role supports aerospace, defense, and critical manufacturing customers with capabilities in mechanical testing, metallurgical evaluation, and chemistry testing for metals and alloys.

Qualifications

• Working knowledge of laboratory safety.
• HS diploma or GED certificate preferred. College or vocational school coursework welcomed.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a testing related field.
• Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed.
• Basic understanding of testing concepts.
• Possess computer skills; ability to use Microsoft Office Applications.
• Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry a plus.

Responsibilities

• Performs tests as directed by customer specifications (Room and Elevated Temperature Tensile; Stress and Creep Rupture; Charpy and IZOD; Hardness; Heat Treatment; Bend; Hydrogen Embrittlement).
• Operates under supervision of a more senior test technician and/or a Department Manager.
• Interacts periodically with customers.
• Adheres to Element Safety Standards.
• Performs all responsibilities in accordance with Element's SOPs.
• Prepares material specimens for testing.
• Ensures tests are performed using calibrated and well-maintained equipment.
