Element Materials Technology's Daleville facility is seeking a Materials Test Technician (2nd Shift) to perform routine and non-routine testing under supervision. The role supports aerospace, defense, and critical manufacturing customers with mechanical testing, metallurgy, and chemistry tasks.

Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, at least two years in a testing-related field, and proficiency with data recording and Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma or GED preferred; college coursework welcomed.
  • Minimum of 2 years in a testing-related field.
  • Analyzes and compiles testing data from the tests performed.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to apply basic algebra and geometry concepts.

Responsibilities

  • Performs tests as directed by customer specifications, including Room and Elevated Temperature Tensile, Stress and Creep Rupture, Charpy and IZOD, Hardness, Heat Treatment, Bend, Hydrogen Embrittlement.
  • Operates under supervision of a more senior test technician or Department Manager as needed.
  • Interacts periodically with customers.
  • Adheres to Element Safety Standards and SOPs.
  • Prepares material specimens for testing.
  • Ensures tests are performed with calibrated and well-maintained equipment.
  • Operates equipment per manufacturer and safety requirements.
  • Gathers and records test data, determining material conformance to customer requirements and industry standards.
