Qualifications

  • Active PE license or ability to obtain within the first months.

Responsibilities

  • Manage project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and client communication.
  • Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and stakeholders.
  • Guide Project Engineers through design execution and enforce deadlines.
  • Mentor junior engineers and support their professional development.
  • Oversee project reporting, billing progress, and construction-phase issues.
  • Balance multiple small and mid-sized projects concurrently.

Job description

An award-winning mechanical engineering firm headquartered in western Denver metro is looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to join its collaborative team. The firm specializes in HVAC and plumbing design across a diverse range of building types, including laboratories, municipal facilities, hotels, new construction, and historic renovations.

This is an opportunity for a strong mechanical engineer who enjoys staying involved in the technical work while also leading projects, clients, and internal teams. You’ll manage multiple projects from kickoff through completion, ensuring they remain on schedule, within budget, and aligned with client expectations.

What you’ll be doing:
  • Managing project plans, schedules, budgets, resources, and client communication
  • Coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, owners, and other stakeholders
  • Guiding Project Engineers through design execution and holding teams accountable to deadlines
  • Mentoring junior engineers and supporting their professional development
  • Overseeing project reporting, billing progress, construction-phase issues, and punch-list completion
  • Balancing multiple small and mid-sized projects simultaneously

  • 7+ years of commercial HVAC and plumbing engineering experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering
  • Active PE license or the ability and commitment to obtain it within the first few months of employment
  • Experience with new construction, renovation, and retrofit projects
  • Demonstrated success managing clients, design teams, budgets, and concurrent projects
  • Strong leadership, communication, organization, and time‑management skills
