Job summary

The Poole and Kent Corporation, located in Ashburn, VA, is seeking a Project Intern, Mechanical to assist the project team in coordinating information for assigned departments. The role reports to the Project Manager and operates as part of a fast-paced construction environment focused on mechanical and electrical services.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management degree and have experience with MS Office and ideally AutoCAD.

Qualifications

• Mechanical Engineering or Construction Management Degree from an accredited College or University completed or in progress, OR equivalent experience.
• Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word and Excel).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD and project management/document control software preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager in driving project’s overall flow from inception to completion.
• Review contract and bid documents; understand scope for project turnover and attend walk-throughs.
• Assist with project document control: insurance, bonding, permits, submittals, RFI’s, change orders and correspondence.
