Job summary

The Poole and Kent Corporation in Ashburn, VA is seeking an Assistant Project Manager, Construction (Mechanical). The role supports the Project Manager and project team to keep commercial mechanical construction projects on time and within budget.

Responsibilities include document control, scheduling, coordination with field teams, and assisting with change orders and billing while maintaining a strong emphasis on safety and compliance.

Qualifications

• 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the mechanical, plumbing, and/or industrial HVAC discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, business administration or related field.
• Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and construction contract language.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Manager in driving project flow from inception to completion.
• Assist with project document control, including certificates of insurance, submittals, RFI’s and change orders.
• Assist with schedule of values and billing format as required by contract documents.
• Attend meetings with internal and external stakeholders to review scheduling, progress and solutions to setbacks.
• Ensure documents are saved in project document control software and distributed correctly.
• Assist field personnel during commissioning and closeout of the project.
