Job summary

Greif is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support the Regional Engineering Manager by driving engineering solutions for production process issues. The role balances hands-on work with analytical design to improve existing equipment and develop new products across multiple Greif sites.

Qualifications include a bachelor’s in engineering with 5–7+ years in project engineering, practical knowledge of mechanical/electrical systems, and proficiency in AutoCAD and MS Project.

Qualifications

• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical and/or Electrical) with 5–7+ years of project engineering in manufacturing.
• Hands-on and analytical engineering skills with experience in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD and project management tools (MS Project/Smartsheet); strong communication and ROI/NPV understanding.

Responsibilities

• Manage concurrent medium-complexity projects ($2M+ USD) from scope to budgeting and scheduling.
• Design basic mechanical layouts aligned with product and process needs; propose improvements.
• Draft technical specifications and handover packages for assets and services.
• Lead process improvements: automation, changeover, tooling, lean manufacturing to improve productivity and safety.
• Coordinate safety standards with EH&S and ensure proper PPE usage and safeguards.
• Provide technical guidance to maintenance teams on installation, troubleshooting, and control of systems.
• Travel as required to support multiple facilities and projects.
