Job summary

Greif is seeking a Project Engineer II - Mechanical in Houston, TX to support production by modifying equipment, developing new products, and leading projects across regions with a hands-on and analytical approach.

Responsibilities include managing multiple projects (2+ MUSD), designing layouts, drafting specs, and driving manufacturing improvements through automation and lean practices. Extensive travel is required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical preferred).
5–7+ years of Project Engineering in manufacturing.
Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic equipment.
Hands-on setup, troubleshooting, changeover, automation, die optimization.
Experience with new product development, trials, material selection.
Electrical experience related to control of mechanical systems.
OSHA knowledge and industrial safety practices.

Responsibilities

Manages several concurrent medium complexity projects (2+ MUSD) including scope, schedule, cost, and resources.
Designs basic mechanical layouts for new products or processes.
Drafts project technical requirements specifications and documentation.
Develops manufacturing process improvements, lean and automation.
Coordinates safety standards with EH&S and safety upgrades.
Provides technical consultation to plant maintenance on installation and control.
Travel to facilities as needed.
Performs other duties as assigned.
