McKinstry is seeking a Project Engineer III - Mechanical to join the Engineering & Design team in Seattle, WA. The role emphasizes 3D modeling, design calculations, and coordination across disciplines to deliver high-performance buildings.

Engineers apply 2D/3D AutoCAD and Revit within the DBOM framework, focusing on energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and lifecycle performance. Onsite construction experience is welcomed and LEED credentials are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience.
• Five years of experience in 2D/3D AutoCAD and Revit modeling.
• Familiarity with MATLAB, VBA, Python and structural analysis software.
• Five years in engineering design or related field preferred; onsite construction experience welcome.
• LEED accreditation preferred; Engineering in Training Certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Documents project correspondence, issues, decisions and directions.
• Contributes to multiple projects and timelines concurrently.
• Manages workload to deliver tasks on time and within budget.
• Provides engineering analysis to support sales and early design efforts.
• Defines and communicates scope, design intent, and design process for supervisor review.
• Proficient in mechanical systems design, calculations, and coordination across disciplines.
