Job summary

Greif, a global packaging leader based near Alsip, Illinois, seeks a Project Engineer II to strengthen our mechanical and electrical engineering teams. You will balance hands-on work with analytical engineering to improve existing equipment and develop new products.

You will manage multiple medium‑scale projects, draft technical specs, design layouts, and lead safety and regulatory compliance efforts across plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering; mechanical or electrical preferred.
• 5–7+ years of project engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience with mechanical/electrical systems; design and testing.
• Hands-on setup, troubleshooting, automation, die optimization.
• Knowledge of OSHA/regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple concurrent medium complexity projects ($2M+ USD).
• Design basic mechanical layouts for new products or processes.
• Draft project technical requirements and documentation.
• Lead manufacturing process improvements and lean initiatives.
• Coordinate with EH&S for safety standards and procedures.
