Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Columbus, OH is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design for low to moderate complexity projects. You will mentor staff, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and support commissioning, energy performance, and strategic growth services.

You will work within project budgets and schedules, advancing safe, energy-efficient design aligned with industry standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• PE license required.
• 5+ years in building design consulting; 6 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection on low to moderate complexity projects.
• Develop detailed designs, specs, and calculations per code and IMEG standards.
• Interact with clients to understand project needs and build relationships.
• Support project execution with planning, budgeting, and scheduling.
• Document design decisions and monitor progress by percent complete and fee expended.
• Analyze problems and collaborate with senior engineers for practical solutions.
• Provide in-process design reviews and apply IMEG quality control processes.
• Stay current on industry trends and contribute to research and innovation.
• Prioritize safety and mitigate risks in mechanical systems.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver integrated solutions.
• Identify project risks and support bidding and construction administration.
