Job summary

IMEG Corporation, a 100% employee-owned engineering firm, is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer in Columbus, OH. You will lead HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection design on mid-complexity projects, mentoring staff and coordinating with cross-functional teams to meet client expectations.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and a PE license, with 5+ years in building design consulting. Travel up to 15% and full-time in-office work are expected, with ESOP benefits and opportunities

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, required
• Professional Engineer (PE) License required
• 5 years of experience minimum, 6 preferred, in the building design consulting industry

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems on low to moderate complexity projects.
• Develop detailed designs, specifications, and calculations using engineering software and tools according to code requirements and IMEG standards.
• Interact with clients to understand project needs, gather requirements, communicate technical information, and build strong professional relationships.
• Support project execution through planning, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines and objectives.
• Document design decisions and client instructions, and monitor project progress related to percent complete and fee expended.
• Analyze engineering problems and collaborate with senior engineers and consultants to develop practical and efficient solutions.
