Job summary

Structural is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to lead the design and coordination of HVAC and plumbing systems for a variety of building projects in California. You will collaborate with architects, engineers, clients, and consultants from design through construction to deliver innovative, high-quality solutions that meet codes and client needs.

You will mentor EITs and junior engineers, contribute to QA/QC, and help improve design standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• CA PE licensure or ability to obtain within six months.
• Experience designing HVAC and plumbing systems for commercial or institutional buildings.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD; working knowledge of Revit/BIM preferred.
• Knowledge of Title 24, ASHRAE, and California Mechanical Code.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design and documentation of HVAC and plumbing systems to meet client goals and codes.
• Perform engineering calculations, equipment selection, and analyses for thoughtful building system design.
• Coordinate with architects, structural, electrical, and other team members to develop integrated designs.
• Guide project scope, schedules, and budgets while keeping projects on track.
• Provide construction support through submittals, RFIs, field observations, and issue resolution.
