Job summary

IMEG Corp. in Germantown, MD is seeking a Mechanical Project Designer to lead design efforts for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems on government/municipal and S&T projects.

You will work with a regional team, ensuring designs meet code requirements and IMEG standards while engaging clients and managing project progress. The role supports 100% ESOP ownership, offers a hybrid work schedule, and requires up to 15% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent required.
• 5 years of experience minimum in building design consulting, 6 preferred.
• Associates degree or certificate in BIM/Engineering preferred with 9+ years experience if using that path.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems.
• Interact with clients to gather requirements and maintain relationships.
• Support project execution, budgeting, and scheduling to meet deadlines.
• Document design decisions and monitor progress, fees, and percent complete.
• Collaborate with senior engineers to develop practical solutions.
• Provide in-process design reviews and ensure quality standards.
