Daimler Truck North America’s Powertrain Engineering internship offers hands-on experience in designing and validating engine integrations and powertrain systems. Interns use NX and CAD tools across multiple vehicle platforms and contribute to real projects.

Open to students enrolled in a Mechanical Engineering program, with a passion for automotive engineering, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. Hybrid in-office schedule in Gaffney, SC.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's program in Mechanical Engineering.
• Passion for Automotive or Trucking.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks on hand.
• Experience with CAD systems (Siemens NX or other modeling programs).

Responsibilities

• Develop vehicle components and systems.
• Apply engineering and CAD principles to create reliable, energy efficient designs.
• Support engine integration through EPA/CARB solutions and engine development projects.
• Use NX and other design tools to create 3D part designs, 2D drawings, GD&T.
• Identify materials, tolerances, finishes, fasteners, and production methods for new designs.
• Develop, release, and maintain Engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with other design areas to reconcile design solutions.
• Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive workplace culture.
