Job summary

Daimler Truck North America offers engineering internships for the summer, with opportunities to work across DTNA locations in the US. Interns will gain real-world experience in engine integrations and powertrain system development, aligning with DTNA’s core values and standards.

Applicants should be enrolled in Mechanical Engineering, prefer automotive/trucking interest, and be able to work in a hybrid schedule (4 days in-office, 1 day remote).

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled in a bachelor’s program or higher in Mechanical Engineering.
• Passion for Automotive or Trucking.
• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Understanding of engineering upstream and downstream processes.
• Customer oriented with the drive to develop customer-focused solutions.
• Ability to work in an environment of ambiguity and ongoing change.
• Experience with CAD systems (Siemens NX, or other modeling programs).

Responsibilities

• Develop vehicle components and systems using CAD principles.
• Support engine integration design and development for Daimler Truck Specialty Vehicle products.
• Use NX and other design tools to create 3D part designs and 2D drawings.
• Identify materials, tolerances, finishes, and production methods for new designs.
• Develop, release, and maintain accurate Engineering documentation.
• Collaborate with other design areas to resolve design conflicts.
• Foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture.
