Job summary

Daimler Truck North America is seeking interns for the DTSV Mechatronics Engineering Body Electrical and Controls Integration team in High Point, NC. You will support electrical and software systems for next‑generation vehicles, work with diagnostic tools, analyze vehicle data, and review wiring diagrams as part of cross‑functional teams.

The internship provides real‑world engineering problems in a fast-paced automotive environment with potential to transition to full-time.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s program or higher or recently graduated (within 1 year)
• Degree majors preferred: Electrical, Mechatronics, or Computer Engineering
• Understanding of software development and/or software testing
• Basic understanding of vehicle mechanics and electrical systems
• Strong interest in mechatronics and vehicle electrical systems
• Working knowledge of electrical/electronic hardware and software
• Familiarity with vehicle diagnostic communication protocols
• Familiarity with vehicle networks (CAN & Automotive Ethernet)
• Ability to adapt to ambiguity and change
• Passion for automotive or trucking
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Creative mindset and teamwork ability

Responsibilities

• Manage Body Controller parameters in collaboration with component and feature owners.
• Develop and maintain test cases to evaluate software release quality.
• Use CANalyzer, DiagnosticLink, VEPS, and related tools for parameter development.
• Read wiring diagrams and schematics and create inputs from outputs.
• Meet with feature owners to understand requirements for feature vehicle level testing.
• Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture.
