Job summary

Amentum's Advanced Solutions Group seeks a Mechanical Process Designer to join our team. Candidates may be based at Greenville, SC, or at our Tullahoma, TN or Farmington Hills, MI offices.

You will prepare detailed pipe/duct drawings, create 2D construction drawings from 3D models, and collaborate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and project teams. Proficiency in AutoCAD and 3D modeling is required.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required to comply with government customer requirements.
• Requires two years of vocational training or two years of college with relevant courses plus at least two years of experience.
• Proficient with CAE/CAD systems and drafting principles.
• Knowledge of piping/ducting and component layout for process mechanical design.
• Experience producing process mechanical drawings (P&ID, PFD, etc.).
• Working knowledge of AutoCAD and 3D modeling; able to produce 2D drawings from models.

Responsibilities

• Work under the direction of the Lead Process Engineer.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings for pipe/duct layouts and mechanical equipment.
• Prepare engineering sketches and detailed drawings per project standards.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and project teams.
• Ensure timely production of drawing packages, spreadsheets, and databases.
• Learn and adapt to office and departmental work processes.
