Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Piping Designer to work on projects using AutoCAD Plant 3D to develop efficient pipe systems. You will draft 3D models and P&IDs, collaborating with engineers to ensure design soundness.

You should have several years of construction or 3D modeling experience, strong drafting skills, familiarity with ASTM/ASME codes, and ideally a Professional Piping Designer Certification. U.S. citizenship is required for client projects.

• 6 years of construction or 3D modeling experience.
• Skills with CAD software.
• Proficient in current engineering design and drafting software packages.
• Understanding of ASTM and ASME codes and standards.
• U.S. Citizenship required for client projects.

Responsibilities

• Draft a 3D model in CAD software.
• Work with engineers to ensure your design is sound.
• Drafts P&ID redlines, adds redlines to already developed P&IDs; develops high level P&IDs from scratch.
• Self-sufficient in generating project deliverables (isometrics, piping plans, plot plans, MTOs) and reviews prior to submitting for checking.
• Tracks schedule and budget during the duration of a project and anticipates manpower overage or underage.
• Under supervision, generates project piping estimates for review with management.
