Amentum’s Advanced Solutions Group seeks a Mechanical Process Designer based in one of our TN, MI, or SC offices to support design and operation of complex facilities. The role focuses on piping/ducting layouts, P&IDs, and detailed drawings for process mechanical systems.

Responsibilities include drafting under the Lead Process Engineer, coordinating with disciplines, and producing complete drawing packages while ensuring compliance with project standards. U.S.

Qualifications

• US citizenship is required to comply with government customer requirements.
• Requires two years of vocational training or two years of college with drafting/engineering courses plus two years of experience.
• Working knowledge of CAE/CAD systems and drafting principles.
• Experience producing piping/ducting layouts and construction drawings (2D/3D).

Responsibilities

• Work under the Lead Process Engineer to develop detailed drawings.
• Prepare pipe/duct layouts and mechanical equipment drawings.
• Create sketches and design information per project standards.
• Coordinate with mechanical, electrical, structural, and project teams.
• Ensure timely production of drawing packages, spreadsheets, and databases.
