Job summary

ENFRA is seeking a Mechanical Professional Engineer I to apply fundamental engineering principles to design, analyze, and support mechanical systems for energy and infrastructure projects across campuses. You will develop code-compliant, constructible HVAC, hydronic, and energy systems within defined scopes and coordinate designs with facilities teams.

You’ll prepare calculations, drawings, and specifications, maintain design documentation, and contribute to systems delivering performance,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architectural or mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of design experience.
• PE license required.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and math skills.
• Proficiency with engineering software and tools.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Detail-oriented with multitasking ability.

Responsibilities

• Signing and sealing engineering documents, as applicable.
• Performs analysis, design, and evaluation of mechanical systems (HVAC, hydronic, energy systems, etc.).
• Prepares calculations, drawings, and specifications under established standards.
• Assists with the creations of detailed system configurations and control schemes with emphasis on long‑term energy savings.
• Conducts field investigations and supports site visits. Coordinates and plans 3D laser scanning effort.
• Assists in project execution, including coordination with internal teams.
• Applies engineering techniques within defined assignments.
• Performs work under general supervision.
• Handles moderately complex issues; escalates more complex problems to senior staff.
• Begins developing client interaction skills in supported setting.
