Job summary

ENFRA is seeking a Mechanical Professional Engineer II to independently apply advanced engineering techniques for design and coordination of HVAC, hydronic, and thermal systems on energy and infrastructure projects. You will lead portions of projects, ensure code‑compliant, constructible designs, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across campuses.

The role involves permitting support, procurement, field condition adaptation, and delivering systems aligned with energy efficiency goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in architectural engineering, mechanical engineering, or related.
• 7+ years of design experience.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills.
• Travel 10-25% of time to job sites.

Responsibilities

• Signing and sealing engineering documents.
• Leads design and analysis of mechanical systems for projects of moderate complexity.
• Develops project deliverables including calculations, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Improves existing systems and supports development of new solutions.
• Prepares detailed system configurations and control schemes with emphasis on long‑term energy savings.
• Conducts field investigations and supports site visits; coordinates and plans 3D laser scanning effort.
• Coordinates with internal disciplines and supports construction‑phase activities.
• Performs work with a high degree of latitude and resolves complex technical issues independently.
• Provides informal mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
• Interfaces directly with clients on technical matters.
