Job summary

AKS Engineering & Forestry is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for full-time, on-site work supporting utility-scale solar, BESS, and wind projects. You will lead onsite installation oversight of piles, trackers, modules, inverters, and BESS systems, coordinate with EPCs and OEMs, and ensure QA/QC and safety on site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experienced construction professional with mechanical background on solar, BESS, or wind projects.
• Willing to travel across the United States.
• Pass a background check, motor vehicle screening, and pre-employment drug test.
• OSHA 10 safety training required.

Responsibilities

• Leading day-to-day onsite oversight of piles, trackers, modules, inverters, and BESS mechanical systems on utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Monitoring delivery, staging, and tracking of Owner Supplied Equipment and mechanical materials onsite.
• Ensuring mechanical QA/QC to verify work is completed safely and per specifications.
• Interfacing with OEMs and commissioning teams to coordinate installation requirements and resolve issues.
• Managing mechanical NCRs and corrective actions, including root cause analysis.
• Tracking testing and turnover documentation to support mechanical completion and closeout.
• Maintaining project documentation related to site conditions, inspections, and decisions.
