Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join a project team. You will assist senior engineers on designs and modifications to powerplant and industrial facilities, gaining hands-on experience in engineering calculations and reporting.

The role emphasizes collaboration, technical learning, and applying coursework in thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, and heat transfer. Summer 2027 start is anticipated; strong communication and MS Office skills are required.

Qualifications

• Active enrollment in a BS/MS in Mechanical, Chemical, Nuclear, General, or Systems Engineering.
• Strong academic background in mechanical systems analysis (thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, or heat transfer).
• Proficiency with MS Office applications.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Enrollment in ABET-accredited engineering program (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of engineering calculations, drawings and specifications.
• Track and evaluate project activities, progress, and related data.
