Job summary

Optikos, LLC seeks an early-career Mechanical Engineer to join our product design team in Wakefield, MA. You will help create high-precision electro-mechanical systems from concept through production, working across engineering, manufacturing, and product teams.

You will contribute to mechatronic integration, motion control, and robust mechanical design while learning and growing in a hands-on environment. This on-site role is located at our Wakefield headquarters.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of mechanical design experience.
• Demonstrated experience using SolidWorks to design and create detailed part and assembly drawings.
• Strong mechanical intuition and hands-on approach to problem-solving and lab testing.
• Effective communication within an interdisciplinary engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Assist in mechanical design and architecture for new products using SolidWorks.
• Support design of precision mechanisms, motion control systems, and integrated electro-mechanical architectures.
• Collaborate with electrical, optical, and manufacturing teams for system-level performance.
• Participate in prototype builds, fixture design, test planning, and lab troubleshooting.
• Evaluate materials, manufacturing methods, and vendor capabilities to optimize performance and cost.
• Apply GD&T and basic structural/thermal analysis.
