Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
• 7+ years of mechanical design experience in precision engineering or mechatronics.
• Mastery of SolidWorks or a similar 3D CAD platform for solid modeling.
• Strong design intuition and creative problem-solving.
• Excellent communication skills across interdisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities

• Drive from-scratch mechanical design and architecture for new products, conceptualizing and developing complex components and assemblies entirely from the ground up using SolidWorks.
• Design precision mechanisms, motion control systems, and integrated opto-mechanical architectures requiring tight tolerances and high reliability.
• Collaborate closely with electrical and optical engineering teams to ensure system-level compatibility and performance.
• Lead hands-on prototype builds, fixture design, test planning, and iterative troubleshooting.
• Evaluate materials, advanced manufacturing methods, and vendor capabilities to optimize performance, cost, and precision.
• Champion best practices in mechanical design, geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), and structural/thermal analysis.
