Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join project teams delivering world-class designs for a range of facilities, including power, process, healthcare, aviation and government sectors. You will design from concept through construction, update CAD drawings, and support client presentations.

The role requires ABET-accredited education, 3+ years of experience, and proficiency in AutoCAD and BIM (Revit). Occasional fieldwork and cross-discipline collaboration are expected.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in Mechanical Engineering; 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience.
• FE exam completed or in progress; 3+ years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.
• Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering; 2+ years of mechanical engineering experience, consulting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical design from conceptual phase through design completion.
• Modify and review production drawings for diverse facilities including power, process, industrial, healthcare and more.
• Design mechanical components per project manager requirements.
• Apply strong knowledge of engineering concepts, principles, codes and procedures.
• Research and compile project data for managers.
• Update drawings in CAD and verify corrections in CAD software.
• Prepare information for client presentations, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration.
• Perform field inspections, measurements or calculations for clients.
• Perform other duties as assigned and comply with policies and standards.
